Questions

Is HootCare speech therapy?

No. It’s an aid for the home practice you assign. It doesn’t diagnose, provide therapy, or replace your clinical judgment.

Does Hoot grade the kids?

No. Hoot shows and says the sound, and the kid takes their turn. HootCare records what was practiced. You judge progress and decide when a sound moves up.

What are the nine levels?

Awareness (listening), isolation, syllables, words, phrases, sentences, stories, conversation, and generalization (separately practiced sounds together). You set the level for each sound, kid by kid.

How do my families join?

You send each family an invite code. They download HootCare for iPhone or iPad and enter it. It’s free for families.

What about HIPAA?

Your practice agrees to our Business Associate Agreement when you register. Your practice is the covered entity, and HootCare acts as its business associate. You can read the BAA any time from the footer.

Which devices does it work on?

Kids and families use the HootCare app on iPhone or iPad. You can run your caseload from the same app or sign in on the web from any computer.
